I studied accounting at Delaware State University and  over ten years doing taxes along with beign a QuickBooks Pro Advisor, thinking I understood business finances. But everything changed when I started my own trucking company and felt the real fear—wondering if I could afford fuel for the next load, lying awake calculating if the money would be there for truck repairs. Suddenly, I wasn’t just crunching numbers—I was living every financial nightmare my future clients would face.

Company Evolution:

From Personal Pain to Purpose

Like every superhero origin story, mine started with discovering I had powers I didn’t know I possessed. In 2016, I founded Joy the Bookkeeper Inc. in Delaware, initially helping trophy companies, churches, and retail stores organize their finances. But through my own business struggles, I unlocked my true superpower: the ability to rescue other business owners from financial chaos.

By 2019, we expanded our mission to New York, offering financial cleanups for businesses needing fresh starts. In 2022, we added tax preparation to our superhero toolkit, becoming the complete financial protector I wished I’d had during my own journey.

Now, instead of losing sleep over my own finances, I lose sleep thinking about how to solve my clients’ money problems. My mission isn’t just to balance books—it’s to transform the financial stress that keeps business owners awake at night into the clarity and confidence that lets them focus on what they love: running their business.
